Follow Up: Botox Mom Made It Up? [UPDATED]

http://thedailywh.at/2011/05/19/follow-up-of-the-day-botox-mom-made-it-up/
According to a sworn declaration obtained by TMZ, Botox Mom Kerry Campbell — whose real name appears to be Sheena Upton — claims she never gave her daughter Botox injections or “virgin” waxes, and, in fact, made up the story wholesale after being paid $200 by The Sun to do so.

“I was provided with the story, instructions and a script to follow for a recorded interview,” Upton says in the statement. She was later approached by Good Morning America and Inside Edition and offered “a large fee” to be interviewed about her allegedly fabricated story.

“The truth is I have never given my daughter Botox, nor allowed her to get any type of waxing, nor is she a beauty pageant contestant,” she says, adding that professionals at the UCLA Medical Center who have examined Upton’s daughter confirm that “she has not ever received treatments including Botox or other such injections.”

TMZ says CPS received the medical center’s conclusion, and subsequently agreed to reunite Upton with her daughter if certain conditions were met. An “ABC News insider” told TMZ there was “no truth to the story about compensation,” although a broker was paid “no more than $10,000? for the rights to publish her photos.

Still seems like a pretty shoddy mom to me.

UPDATE: Naturally, The Sun has denied Upton’s claims, telling TMZ it “strongly denies any suggestion it solicited or knowingly published a false story regarding Kerry Campbell and her daughter.”

The tabloid says it is considering taking legal action.
