Kevin ought to be careful not to antagonize doctors. This sort of thinking could easily turn the medical profession against MDFI. MDFI should be helping docs, not discussing Medefile's role spearating them from their own patients.
It is also not a sensible stand for Kevin to take since most true telemedicine systems (like the one at Kaiser) eliminate the need for iPHR like Medefile anywaysince they are meant to integrate hospitals, doctors, and outpatient facilities directly, without any third party help.
Truly open TM systems are years away in the US, and it is not the docs keeping it down, it is the patients and gov that are scared about misuse of data and privacy. The AMA just published a paper on this and the privacy and legal ramifications. It is scary. HIPPA actually works against this prospect as does ARRA incidentally.
So why is Kevin talking about this stuff instead of partnering with companies that will eventually put MDFI at center stage?
