Implant Sciences Receives Order for Explosives Detection Equipment from Republic of Korea

Quantum Sniffers Explosives Detection Equipment to Be Used for Protection of High Level Government Building

WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 10, 2005--Implant Sciences Corporation (AMEX: "IMX", "IMX.WS") a developer and manufacturer of products for national security, medicine and industry, today announced the receipt of an order for three (3) units of its Quantum Sniffer handheld explosives detection equipment (the "QS-H100") from the Republic of Korea. It is our understanding that the QS-H100 will be used for the protection of a high level government building. The QS-H100 was developed for use in the detection of trace residues of explosives materials for aviation and transportation security, protection of high threat facilities, infrastructure, customs and border protection, and cargo screening.
Government officials invited Implant's sales engineer and exclusive sales representative to South Korea to perform a comprehensive demonstration of our QS-H100 equipment. The QS-H100 is a mobile, handheld device that detects the presence of explosive vapors in real time without the need to physically contact the articles under examination. During the course of our demonstration, the QS-H100 satisfactorily met the South Korean government requirements and specifications which lead to the successful award of this order.

Dr. Anthony J. Armini, PhD., CEO of Implant Sciences, commented, "We are encouraged by our success in meeting the South Korean requirements for explosives detection and the positive reception to our equipment by the officials of the Republic of Korea. We believe the current planned installation of our QS-H100 trace explosives detection equipment in this important high level South Korean government building should provide the Company a high level of visibility that could support our efforts to bid on any future installations of explosives trace detection equipment in South Korea."
