some statins may improve this response

Reading the article, all statins improved the raw response (increase in lean mass), but in a regression analysis only what I would term the "weak" statins (Pravachol and Mevacor) were beneficial - the "strong" statins (Lipitor/Zocor) had no impact.

Bottom line though seems to be you need dietary cholesterol to build muscle.
