You Have Options for Directing Trades If for any reason you want to direct your trade to a particular exchange, market maker, or ECN, you may be able to call your broker and ask him or her to do this. But some brokers may charge for that service. Some brokers offer active traders the ability to direct orders in Nasdaq stocks to the market maker or ECN of their choice.
Recently I have been requesting my buys are routed to AUTO. SEC allows this as above. My prerogative.
NITE's always so much cheaper but I'm just sayin'.
I guess my orders to AUTO get AUTO to go to NITE to get the shares since he's almost always the cheapest Ask. They'll settle that between them I guess. Shouldn't be a problem, right, if NITE has shares. He does have shares, doesn't he? I mean he seems to have SO MANY shares over there he can sell them below published Ask! Wow! Shares on sale over at NITE, get 'em at 16 when the Ask is 20! Maybe even cheaper! Thanks for the cheapies today - what did I do to deserve that?! You made my Cinco de Mayo, dude.
NITE filled all buy orders today, including those I got from him on a via from AUTO. Get off the Ask if you don't have shares, NITE. Here's your butt hanging out again on the RegSHO list tonight:

Probably would have shorted the whole lot of them if you didn't scoop up those stop losses at 14. Didn't get enough though did you?
Get off the Ask if you don't have shares. Or raise the Bid and get people to sell you some. Don't sit there selling at 16 and 20 cents and pretending you have shares and you don't have to cover.
I ain't selling you any of mine. Even if I was going to sell I'd tell my broker to sell them to AUTO.
