Orange, a minor correction in your good post:
You wrote:
"but blacks are no longer owned by white people."
It should read (IMO):
"but people are no longer owned by people."
There were many black slaves owned by Black people and there were Indians owned as slaves as well.

A small fact that is usually left out of our liberal education system in my opinion.
