note how AMAT monthly price has never been 'flat' for so long since '95

PS: SIA monthly data spikes for the last month of each quarter. That's probably why SIA prefers to report 3 month averages. Uninformed finance writers would freak out. The raw data is a download http://www.sia-online.org/pre_statistics.cfm
