old white guys (and stupid women) living off the government

So, can you explain to me how it is 'living off the government' when these folks paid in to these programs their entire working lives? Seems it is already their money ... over which the government is supposed to provide responsible stewardship, during the time the government has possession of it ...

doesn't always work that way, obviously, but ...... that is the idea ...
