I still maintain the tech will not be the place for INVESTORS (as opposed to traders)to be when a genuine bull market begins unless the NAZ drops well below the October lows. The leaders in one bull never lead the next one -- especially when they are still very expensive.
Right now it looks like emerging markets may play a leadership role in the next bull. Perusing the performance of the diversified funds offered by my Metlife 401k (five domestic, one international and one emerging markets) I can report that emerging markets have GREATLY OUTPERFORMED for the year to date. This also is true of emerging market funds in general as far as I can tell. And this from a group that is supposed to get the flu when US stocks catch a cold.
I have found over the years that groups which hold up the best in bear markets frequently lead the ensuing bull.
