Did you know -- that the accumulated deficit is actually considered an asset in the eyes of fund managers, analysts, and brokers?
So much so, that many companies upon turning profitable move a portion of the accumulated deficit figure to the asset column called "Deferred Tax Assets" because it's a right to save many millions of dollars in taxes that become very real cash bottom line profits.
Likewise, that makes a company a more attractive buyout candidate and/or raises the buyout price.
