My knowledge of AMR101 is greater than fibrates, but it would seem EPA gets the edge...

1) It is my understanding fibrates reduce Trigs, but understandable by the Friedewald Equation (TC = HDL-C +LDL-C + TG/5) raise LDL-C unless taken with a statin...AMR101 lowers TGs and does not raise LDL-C without a statin.

2) Fibrates via their actions have a significant incidence of causing muscle aches and pains, and occasionally more serious problems. They also create a lot of GI distress..
AMRN in studies compares favorably with the placebo as far as serious side effects or just everyday disagreeability...It is more easlily tolerated than Lovaza or Fishoil with no fishy smell, no burping...

Think a biotech product along the lines of CocaCola, only this one could be the remedy for the "Western Diet"...
