Irony here is The Grand Ayatollah Hakim al Badr was on the U.S. special list of "annointed" exiles to come back and rule Iraq.
He was, of course, subsequently blown up.
Now the entire Badr Brigade was highly trained within Iran.
Hakim al Badr was allied with Sistani and oppositional to Muqtada al Sadr.
In terms of ousting the U.S. from Iraq, if the Mahdi Army(which is surely getting more heavily armed and skilled with each passing month) and the Badr Brigrade were to form a coalition it would be a power, but if they are adversarial, that would play right into the U.S. hands.
But i suspect the Badr Brigrade loyalty could end up with the highest bidder for their loyalty.
Iran , if thinking in their interest, i would think would be working to get the Mahdi Army and the Badr Brigrade in an unspoken unity.
I see Sistani in his turn the other cheek status, and having the power to make it hold, is trying get strength to maintain order by themselves and then tell the U.S. it is time to go.
One thing though it need be understood that Sistani was oppositional to Khomeini and Khomeinism, he was the anti-thesis of Khomeinism believing clerics should never be in government, so how easy is it going to be for Sistani to deal with the still cleric ruled Iran????
Man this gets complicated:) (and always that matter of what happens if the in quite bad health Sistani should suddenly die--whew!)
O BTW, i did that mind exercise and i get one istant flash for the history of the earth up to now, happening all i once.
It is one word.
I have thought it out and i see the primal basis for that word booming forth in my head.
I am going to set this aside to think about it some more, i am not ready to say the word---i don't want the audience to laugh at me(VBG).
