As I expected. It's a good fit for their existing business, as they'll now become the preferred satellite provider for movie watchers. You'll likely see bundled package add ons to their satellite service that will include a Netflix-style VOD package, a mail-order package, and an in-store unlimited rental package.

The good news out of this for TDGI is that they won't lose a huge customer compared to if it had been liquidated. With the new Dish/BB you'll now have a solid competitor to Netflix as well, so this should create a competitive market for distributors to get a better price for their VOD films, as well as having two large VOD clients instead of just one.
