I do know a friend company closing their office during the "recession" but retain most of their employee. They rent out a storage facility for their products. Everyone work at home and it works out fine. Saved the company $90K or so on office leasing. The power of internet, skype, smartphone and inexpensive server. I'm starting to see it becoming more and more common at least in Chicago. :)

Looking at STAU, it's just sock not electronic component to require laboratory for testing. Their location is a network of phone interconnected as if they are working all together under one roof. Same concept as customer service in India. :) :(
