It comes as increasingly close ties between the two countries are threatened by Russia's determination to push ahead with a missile sale to Syria that Israel considers threatening. Other potential sore points are Moscow's nuclear aid to Iran, signs of rising anti-Semitism in Russia and the Kremlin's push to extradite several former Russian billionaires who have taken residence in Israel.

First the United States curbs Israel’s involvement in the development of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the biggest warplane programme ever, because of its arms deals with China opposed by Washington, then the State Department calls on Israel to forswear nuclear weapons and accept international Atomic Energy Agency safeguards on all nuclear activities. w w w . h a a r e t z . c o m

Later Putin shows up in Israel and the Pentagon notifies Congress of a proposed sale to Israel of 100 guided bunker-busting bombs, a move that analysts said could prompt concerns about a unilateral Israel strike against Iran.

Still things are not that rosy between Israel and the United States, this might help Putin’s cause and override some of what threatens the ties between Israel and Russia.

Go figure!!!
