I can tell on some of them.
I bought 1550 today.
A friend bought 5000 today.
The 5000 were gotten at a discount. She got them for a few cents below Ask. Such generousity from NITE. The transaction looks like a SELL but it was a BUY. This is because a "sell" is technically a transaction that is closer to BID than ASK and a "buy" is technically a transaction that occurs closer to ASK than BID. A market maker, by selling some shares below Ask, can make it look like there is selling going on.
As a note, a somewhat large order from me (over 5000 shares) was broken up and I got some of them at .319. At first I thought he gave me at least 1000 at that amount but then I looked again and he gave me 300!!! WHAT IS THIS? You break up a limit order of around 5000 shares (good until cancelled) by filling 300 shares? How hard is it to produce 5000 shares people - particularly when you are claiming there were over 8000 sold! Again, I ask what was he doing? Was he hunting for them like Easter Eggs in the Ashdown forest?
I wonder what the rest of the volume was. If anyone here bought some of these shares that look like sells, please pipe up.
This was a paint job today that was a sophomoric attempt to look like a sell off. Sell off - that's a good one. Here's what actually happened today:
A buy of 2000 shares at .392 at 9:37am.
Apparent "sell" of 600 shares at .35 at 9:55am. (this is $210)
A buy of 250 shares at .39 at 11:38am.
Apparent "sell" of 1000 shares at .35 at 11:51 (who knows?)
Apparent "sell" of 1000 shares at .35 at 12:05 (who knows?)
Apparent "sell" of 1000 shares at .35 at 13:38 (who knows?)
A buy of 5000 shares at .35 at 14:01 - made to look like a sell.
Apparent "sell" of 300 shares at .319 at 14:34 -- REALLY? Someone really needed $95 that bad?
A buy of 1000 shares at .3799 at 14:53
A buy of 500 shares at .3799 at 15:15
Now I ask you, if you add up what we KNOW are buys, how much of today's volume are POTENTIAL sells?
Total Volume 12,650 - 8500 KNOWN PURCHASES OF TELVUE SHARES = POTENTIAL sells of 4150, and I don't even buy that. Some sell off -- nice try Mr. Marker Maker.
Good luck to TelVue investors.
