Apr 26, 2005 (streetinsider.com via COMTEX) --The Dow finished 91.34 points lower to close at 10,151, the Nasdaq fell 23.34 points to close at 1,927 and the S&P 500 fell 10.36 points to close at 1,151.

The markets closed out the trading session in the red today as a drop in consumer confidence and concerns over inflation and higher interest rates sparked a selloff. Volume was light with 1.94 billion shares trading on the NYSE and 1.71 billion on the Nasdaq. Decliners outpaced advancers today by a margin of 22:10 on the NYSE and by a margin of 21:9 on the Nasdaq.

In individual stories, PEC Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: PECS) closed 35.46% higher after Nortel (NYSE: NT) announced a definitive agreement to acquire the Company for $15.50 per share. On the downside, Intersections, Inc. (Nasdaq: INTX) closed 37.98% lower after reporting disappointing Q1 results.

Tomorrow traders will be watching for data on Durable Orders, which is due to hit the wires at 8:30 A.M.

NNI will acquire PEC for an estimated US$448 million (net of cash acquired) through a cash tender offer for all of the outstanding shares of PEC at US$15.50 per share. Nortel expects the acquisition to be earnings per share neutral in 2005 and accretive thereafter.
