99% of Wall Street doesn't give a crap when a company files a routine extension. They don't consider it "late" unless it's filed after the extension period.
Probably because, I repeat, most people know that extensions are routine and companies take advantage of it all day long, even ones that get bought out for super premiums and report blockbuster results. The only time I've ever seen a stock fall on a routine extension filing is when a bunch of naive investors on a message board flip out over nothing, not having a clue how routine it is while more experienced investors quietly chuckle and wink to each other, knowing even heavily profitable NYSE and NASDAQ companies rile routine extensions all the time.
