There is significant support for this biomass project at the local level. The reasons are obvious to most.
Another note I took away from prior SEC deliberations was that the committee discussed, quite thoroughly, the need for what they referred to as a "local advisory group/committee" which would serve as a liason between ownership/construction/operator and the general public. The SEC's objective is to avoid "minor complaints" being sent to them for resolution. One committee member stated that he fully expects that someone from Berlin will be on the street at the plant with a clock/watch and catch a truck delivering a load one minute before/after the pre-determined, allowable schedule.
They are looking for these types of issues to be dealt with locally. This is not their "first rodeo" and I am confident they are anticipating thoroughly in their review.
"Patience grasshopper".
P.S. The word from mill workers is that they expect purchase/sale agreement to be signed within the next week. If that happens, it will be a sign of Cate Street's confidence in the community. And, IMO, another vote of confidence for Berlin's biomass project. I have also heard that workers tied to the natural gas/methane gas connection to mill site are beginning to appear. The final design was due for completion by the end of March. So, if true, that may be right on schedule ans another positive.
