subjectSeedling capacity for anticipated projects?
mailed-bygmail.com

Dr. Vandersande,

I hope all is well.

I notice Biomass Magazine has an article today about the tremendous opportunity that Thailand holds in the biomass market. It sounds really promising.

I also notice VIASPACE is in talks with about 5 companies in Thailand per today's article, which leads to some questions.

Provident and General Biofuels will need more than 20,000 acres of seedlings for the goals stated in the MOU's that were recently announced., correct?

VIASPACE also said in a recent article that an energy company in Europe was interested, but the company doesn't want to be named at this time, though it suggested the deal was very very close because of the wonderful new test results, correct?

Today, 5 companies are mentioned as potential customers in Thailand.

VIASPACE now has 279 acres in China to use as a nursery for these projects. The PR from last summer suggest that if one MOU is signed, VSPC won't have sufficent seedlings to supply any other projects at this time, does it not?

Irvine, CA- June 9, 2010 - VIASPACE Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: VSPC), a clean energy company growing Giant KingTM Grass as a low-carbon, renewable energy crop, today announced it has increased Giant King Grass production capacity by leasing an additional 34 acres in Guangdong Province, China. The new land leased for 25 years is contiguous to VIASPACE's current land and includes the ability for irrigation.
With the new acreage, just planted with Giant King Grass, VIASPACE now has 279 acres under cultivation to support its expanding needs, including commercial production of Green LogTM fireplace and campfire logs, supplying seedlings for planting additional acres to support large biomass projects, and manufacturing biomass pellets for replacing coal in electricity generating power plants.
The VIASPACE acreage also acts as a nursery, which can provide sufficient seedlings to plant more than 10,000 acres of new crops per year to support partners' annual needs for biomass for their power-generating projects. VIASPACE is in discussions with potential business partners operating in China, Europe, India, Indonesia and other regions, where their biomass power plants have been built or are under construction.

Wouldn't the deal in the Dominican Republic require 10,000 - 12,000 acres of seedlings, at least, if the goals are met? I know Provident is an initial 25 acres, but isn't that MOU being implemented at this time, with a goal of at least 10,000 acres in the near future?

What about the European power producer?

5 potential customers in Thialand?

Does VIASPACE run the risk of not supplying potential customer needs based on their own supply of seedlings in the near term?

Wouldn't a supply contract in Europe be more lucrative than the General Biofuels agreement? What if financing is obtained with General Biofuels first? Wouldn't the lender require a guarenteed supply of seedlings, thus preventing an agreement in Europe at this time? Couldn't the Dominican Republic acreage be ready to plant within a year, and isn't financing being obtained?

Isn't VIASPACE suggesting at least 30,000 acres of potential in seedlings in the short term, with only about 10,000 acres of supply per year?

How can 279 acres in seedlings, make a dent in over 30,000 acres in the near term? How does VIASPACE anticipate handling all these potential new customers, since so many deals are said to be very close? Isn't that why a new position is available at VIASPACE, for all these new projects?

Also, do you anticipate anymore issues with customs, like you had with the 5 acres worth of seedlings for RuBa in Germany?

Thanks for your time as always,

There will be more releases when additional deals are closed. We will be able to supply seedlings when it is necessary.
