A clue: Traders and investors are not supposed to "make" the price of any stock go up. That would be manipulation. - Janice Shell

What should move a stock up, doesn't often enough, due to the agressive short selling volume hitting the buying, creating resistance and preventing the market to dictate the true value of the stock based upon the news. That is the "war" many speak of IMO.

Also, the day retail traders with a margin account are allowed to short, as freely as they could go long, on today's "non-marginable" securities, that will be the day the playing field is leveled.
