The more names the merrier. Weitz and CAT are good ones -- but to my way of thinking it's not just that they focus on the heartland (Mairs and Power does, but the others certainly range much farther afield), but that they live in places where their thinking is perhaps less clouded because they've not breathing such a heady (sic) atmosphere.
I could draw analogies with biotech (and tech) investors who get caught up in details and forget to take a break once in a while to look at the broader investment climate, but I won't.
