Can someone in China let us know what - or even IF there exists - the laws regarding wire taps?
In the U.S. if is based on state laws and a recorded conversation must be in accordance with the laws of the state in which both callers reside. For example, here is South Carolina only 1 party must be aware (in other words, a third party cannot record a call without anyone else knowing). If, however, I record a call with someone in say Florida (where both parties must be made aware) without telling them up front than I am in violation of the law. It gets confusing past that...especially with VOIP like Google Voice. Credit collectors, for example, generally get #'s with area codes local to the person calling to trick them into answering even though they are in a different state.
Anyhow, just curious is recording a call in China is no big deal, or if it is a capital offense.
