Second post 3-4-2011 CROWNBUTTE WIND POWER CBWP & NACEL ENERGY NCEN I could be wrong but after reading last night and this morning I believe I know why the two companies did not just merge right out of the gate. I think it is because of the already approved documentation filed with Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator, Inc. (Midwest ISO). The application with regard to placing a wind project online is staggering, complex and would have to be re-filed under the new owner of the projects. Simple as a name change sounds it looks like it’s a serious process that would be better implemented once the farm is up and running. Couple this info with the documents filed by CBWP in January and February 2011, it is logical to surmise that the three CBWP projects which already have interconnection agreements will be constructed prior to any merger of the two companies. It also makes sense that CBWP will build out these first 3 projects as fast as possible so as to secure the Department Of Energy reimbursement program monies before they expire and complete the transition to an operating business.
