On the flare issue, the flare question was asked and the docs are not seeing it.

We're agreed. But my point is that lack of flare is odd since the obvious interpretation of that is lack of healing. And to paraphrase you, odd things in a trial are of concern. This is not to say that there might not be valid explanations that still leave XL184 looking pretty good (e.g. bone mets are stabilized by interfering with the bone remodeling pathways and tumor's control of it, or the bone healing was accomplished ultra fast so by six weeks it was all clear) - but odd is a worry.

As to rigorous measurement of the XL184 pain data, I would answer it was not.
