Hey Bobwins...with oil prices high, I have been looking into oil alternatives. During WWII (the big one), The Nazi were working on a process to extract liquid fuel from coal. This became known as the Fischer-Tropsch process. Several companies are using this process to make fuel. Some that are involved in this are SSL (a big S. African co that got involved during the Apartheid boycott) - $25, RTK an AMEX co that has portable conversion units that it rents out $1.50, and SYNM, which seems to have perfected the process into an economical alternative. $13.

Every day, oil fields burn tons of Methane gas from their sites - or else they could explode. Transporting the gas is a huge expense - building pipelines, etc. The other way to utilize it is LTG, using a process where the gas is frozen, condensed, moved in cryogenic containers to a terminal and turned back into gas. Very expensive.

The F-T method of GTL (gas to liquid) is a mobile process that uses air and a catalyst to change the structure of the gas to a diesel-like fuel (that can be used in gas cars). This is what Those 3 companies do.

Do a google on SYNM, there are some facinating articles.

I think SYNM may be a real potential star. I was right with NVEC!
ok, I was wrong with OMNI to the tune of a $26k loss last year, but why bring that up..........
