I assume you're just using a figure of speech and aren't serious about "I just can't believe our gov't would let this happen" considering that the current government hasn't prosecuted or even investigated ONE solitary individual/firm responsible for the financial crisis that we're in, and they have in fact promoted many of the key players to positions of influence and paid them billions of dollars rather than locking them up and throwing away the key...
