Hap, I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing here. I have traded naked options (both puts and calls) for over 18 months now and have had more success with them and made more money than I ever did trading equities. Like you, I don't use margin, or write a naked option I can't cover with cash.
I don't need to be careful with naked puts on AAPL as I have no naked puts on AAPL nor do I intend to have any. IMO it is too early to short and too late to long so I am currently sitting on my hands until this market decides to actually do something. Currently I am short a few July naked puts on CSCO and short June naked calls on IDCC. That's it! The rest of the option trading I do is all intraday, offed by the close and start the next day fresh. I take gains when offered and losses when they're small. And I don't look back. . .
