Years ago (late 70s) I spent a summer with my parents when they lived in Birmingham, Alabama.

At the time the population of Birmingham was about 300,000. Along the main road leading from Birmingham to Atlanta, and near the state line, was a small town of about 3,000 people. The town had only a couple stop lights.

That year, that town brought in more revenue from speeding violations than Birmingham (100 times larger, and probably 200 times as many cars) did. They ticketed everybody, especially anyone with an out of state plate. They ticketed at 1 mph over, and fudged the data. Eventually there was an expose done - turned out that not only HAD they calibrated the laser gun to read faster than actual speed, they also had a remote control device that they used flip the stop light to red as people were going through - and then wrote people up for running the light!

If I could afford to buy all of them, I would not need to buy any of them and I sure wouldn't be spending time on the message boards!
