You're emotional argument doesn't work here. This is just business. I'm not the one that claimed I broke the Betz limit with PhD. Visser and was then proven incorrect. BTW if you don't buy the unit and then test it, like say Consumer Reports, then you really aren't independent. I hope they bought the unit. This is not an emotional thing for 99% of us on this board. But this has become a bore. When Brock gets his "Betz Breaking" figures analyzed and then verified, I'll be the first to congratulate your friend as well as yourself for the "I told you so" moment. Bottom line: It's a great CONCEPT, but it has yet to be proven.
My point exactly with the cost comment on your post. If this tech remains more costly and the tip speed at 1:1 ratio can't be verified, you won't be able to sell DAWT to anyone. I personally can't wrap my head around the fact this has been around since '72 and no tree hugging engineer anywhere has yet to conquer the problems associated with the blades.
