Uggs....people first purchased them primarily because it appeared as a fad originating in Australia I believe.

Also, consider they ARE comfortable.

Plus, they do not look outrageous by themselves but you look at them together with shorts, or jeans, or even a short skirt and that is what being trendy is all about. In the fashion business, you look at how seperates are coordinated to look together.

Finally, consider the target market for Uggs....primarily teen and young adult. Then consider that they are "in" with the pre-teens because they are cool with the teens. And when you are a young adult and see celebrities like Paris Hilton wearing them shopping in NYC or on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.....or you see some enchanting young actress wearing them with an expensive gown or dress on the red carpet at the Oscars.....this is the best advertising possible.

Now, I dont care about the product so much....I just want the stock to move up a couple plus points.
