I respectfully disagree, in my opinion his attorney after looking at the charges brought and looking at the co-defendants in the case running for cover and making deals and most likely cooperating already (happens most of the time that way) he will suggest to dean to not make it any harder on himself than he already has...His attorney will advise dean to do what ever it takes to be as much help as possible immediately.
Remember he is most likely not the only defendant with skin in the game. They all run to sing first because they know that once they have the evidence they no longer need to cut deals so all want to be the first.
I grew up around this stuff because my step dad was the legal defense for a very large organization who used to always get in trouble with the fed law. Had to do with motorcycles and some such thing...:)
