I actually purchased a few DECK shares back this morn. Obviously Uggs are important but I think the Teva sandals are very popular also.
I do see different age/culture groups wearing them in and around San Diego. They are popular with the pre-teen, teen, and quite trendy set. There appears to be alot of advertising for them around the beach areas where I live, work, and play in surf shoppes, magazines related to surfing and the teen crowd, and some fashion magazines. I have seen Uggs worn on the red carpet by actresses in expensive gowns and the Hilton sisters wear them so the advertising is huge in that sense the teen and young adult crowd.
On a smaller scale in my own store here I have seen Uggs worn often. They are hip, comfortable, warm and make a fashion statement. I have seen them worn with short shorts, jeans, and skirts.
I am not trying to sell Uggs but they seem to be "in"...!
