Ok.. I finally paid the premium to hop in on the MNTA discussion.. I am that "guy" on YMB texastom311

Sandoz only has a contract with a GPO called Broadlane (they are mostly your rehabilitation post op centers, Kindred Hospital as an example)

SNY secured Sole Source contracts with a 30 day out clause with all the major GPOs including (Premeir, HPG etc and lets not forget all the DOD and VA currently purchasing SNY Lovenox) during July and August All FACT. This is how SNY maintained 85% mkt shr in the hospitals.

Also as I have mentioned due to supply constraints on the SNY side HPG has allowed its accounts to purchase M-enox. HPG put in their 30days last Friday the 28th and will begin purchasing March 1st.

Now to add to the TEVA speculation in July 2010 all HPG accounts received an email directing their accounts to continue to purchase SNY's Lovenox as they were in constant contact with TEVA regarding their version of Lovenox. The fact that HPG has finally switched could be telling or it could just very well be the backorder issue with SNY.

The Lovenox price discount in the institutional setting is 40% and Sandoz was about 35%. Now what I have learned is that HCA (an account using HPG) will save 5 million dollars by switching to generic, so it is safe to say Sandoz is becoming very aggressive with pricing in the institutional setting. When I learn of that price of a box of 30mg i will post.

Just called a Walgreens to verify that a Box of 10 30mg syringes is 293.99 vs. Sandoz 239.99 for a box of 10. Remember these are retail prices I can't comment on pharmacy WAC.

However, the same 30mg syringes in the hospital Box of 10 $187 (Sandoz) vs $130 per box (SNY). Once I learn the new Sandoz price with discount I will post but it will obviously be less than the $130.

Remember Lovenox comes in many syringe sizes 30,40,100,120 and 150 mg. Sandoz is only getting the 30,40mg business as far as I know in the retail setting.
