Before I get involved in a bunch of replies that make it look like I'm an ARM supporter, let me simply say that my only point here is that as an Intel investor, one of the few companies that I keep an eye on is ARM to see if anything coming up looks promising.

With that said, I think it makes sense given the above mentioned Server applications (Intel's high margin products) that if an ARM licensee were to produce a chip that worked well for just those few applications that you mentioned above, it COULD effect Intel's business. And that interests me.

Or if NVidia decided to release a product tailored to the SuperComputer market that was an NVidia GPU combined with an Octal core ARM processor that offered enough general compute performance to get by but really excelled with floating point when compared to an Intel offering, that would also make me question the impact this would have on Intel's business.

Are you saying that neither of the above two scenarios will likely happen over the next few years? I think it's almost certain that it will and, I will be interested to see what Intel does to counter.

My money right now is with Intel.

I'm sure that the board is growing weary with me about now, and, my intention is not to drag the board down, so, I'll allow some posters that are more knowledgable than I to post for a while. Thanks all for your input and I'll keep reading even while not writing...
