Alabama BioEnergy Announces Soybean Biodiesel Plant
Written on September 12, 2006

The Huntsville Times reports that Alabama BioEnergy will produce 40,000 gallons of biodiesel a day at a new plant in Bridgeport. Thirty employees will start up the $2.2 million plant making fuel from soybeans grown in Alablama and neighboring states. A $500,000 grant made possible by the 2002 Farm Bill helped fund the new facility. Alabama BioEnergy says the fuel will be 100% soybean oil when it leaves their plant and later mixed with crude oil to make 2-20% mixtures at the pumps.
