I mentioned several posts back that when I lived in NJ I had neighbors who were from Egypt; I think of them these days...they are one of the "haves" and each summer they traveled back to their summer home in Egypt. When their daughter got married (in NJ) I was invited; it was surreal to see the room divided with a portable wall - the women sat on one side of the room while the men sat together on the other side...When the music began, the women danced with women and I guess (I couldn't see them) the men danced with men.
I do believe I stood out - a blonde/blue-eyed Irishman!
