That's not how it is. Vale agrees to 80% OWNERSHIP. Meaning 80% of ANY COSTS associated with getting a mine running falls on them. It also means they make 80% of the profits. So, yes, they paid a few small fees to acquire the rights, but that is how it works. They front the capital to get the property working, and then they get a nice profit from it. It's like that with any venture capitalist. They fund you for a % of the business.
