I have been racking my brains searching for where google gets the total market shares for a security that i have been posting screen shots for but can not figure it out.
I could understand market capitalization changing for the simple reason the share price is a constant moving target but the total shares can only change in 3 ways that I can think of:
1. stock splits (reverse or forward)
2. share buyback & retiring
3. dilution where the company trades new shares for cash or other assets.
if anyone knows another way I would love to hear it.
Anything I post you should take with a grain of salt. Do your own Due Diligence. It's possible to lose all your money in the stock market, be prepared.
