Mar 30, 2005 (streetinsider.com via COMTEX) --The Dow finished 135.23 points higher to close at 10,540, the Nasdaq rose 31.79 points to close at 2,005, and the S&P 500 gained 16.05 points to close at 1,181.

The markets closed out the trading session in the green today as oil inventories were higher and struggling sectors such as Internet, Retail, and Airlines saw buying interest.

Volume was heavy with 2.08 billion shares trading on the NYSE and 1.71 billion on the Nasdaq. Advancers outpaced decliners today by a margin of 25:7 on the NYSE and by a margin of 21:9 on the Nasdaq.

In individual stories, Jacada Ltd. (Nasdaq: JCDA) closed 27.64% higher after entering into an enterprise license agreement with a large telecommunications provider that is expected to yield several million dollars over the coming quarters. On the downside, Corgentech Inc. (Nasdaq: CGTK) closed 51.69% lower after announcing that treatment with E2F Decoy failed to meet the trial's primary and secondary endpoints.

Tomorrow traders will be watching for data from Initial Claims, Personal Income, Personal Spending, Factory Oders, Chicago PMI, and the Help-Wanted Index. Initial Claims, Personal Income, and Personal Spending are due to hit the wires at 8:30 A.M. The Chicago PMI, Help-Wanted Index, and Factory Orders are scheduled for 10:00 A.M.

Three board members have advised Icoria that they will resign or not stand for re-election at the company's May 11 annual meeting. They are: Robert M. Goodman, Ph.D., Board member since June 1998; Susan Harlander, Ph.D., Board member since May 2001; and Michael Summers, a Board member since March 1998.

To facilitate its realignment, Icoria has created an Office of the President, led by Heiri Gugger, President and CEO.
