I know this might seem strange but suppose, just suppose, that he's

a) not selling
b) understood the risk
c) isn't happy with the present state of things

Why is the obvious answer always the one everyone wants to dismiss first?

I'm sorry but the grand conspiracy theories on both sides of the fence don't play well with me. Otherwise self respecting people allow greed to overshadow their good sense and they buy into a story. Other, equally self respecting people, allow ego to overshadow their good manners and they tell the others what fools they are.

To me it's not that complicated.
