I know you are being sarcastic, but no doubt the apologists will try to say that Brad did not lie - he was just misinformed.

So, we would be left with two choices:

1) Brad lied about the state of the competition

or

2) Brad had no idea about the state of the competition


I'm not sure which is worse, really. Of course it is bad for a CEO to lie about the competition in writing. But it is almost as bad for a CEO to have no clue regarding what the competition offers.
