Colin Cowherd will be on air at 10AM eastern on ESPN Radio. This is what I just sent him, they are in pre show right now, and they read ALL emails:

Colin,

I wrote yesterday, Kenny was in, wanted to catch up with you.

Being the even-keeled common sense no nonsense guy you are which is why I'm a huge fan, do you realize that calling into your show, or any show on ESPN is becoming more limited by the day because of smartphones.

Hear me out....smartphones make up 50% of Americans phones now, and the majority of those do not use number/letter combos, so when you tell listeners to call 888 SAY ESPN, up to 50% of us have no idea how to dial SAY ESPN. Not only are you missing out on a huge part of the audience, but those of us who own the smartphones are a demo you are looking for. Why do you think you get a lot of numbscull callers haha.

Not only that, any of your promotions or commercials that give out 800 toll free vanity like 800 PROGRESSIVE or P90X or whatever, if I want to call them, and I'm on the fly in my car or wherever, my Blackberry, and tons of smartphones just can't do it.

I can't believe radio especially has not caught on to this, nevermind TV and print ads with toll free vanity numbers.

The reason why this has happened is because most cell phone carriers are getting out of the toll free biz because it has been deregulated and diluted among hundreds of smaller companies, so they could care less if their new phones have the letter/number combo. If a radio ad does not have a vanity number, forget about it too, nobody remembers the number, even if they repeat it 10 times like they do in every radio spot.

So, with that said, a boom for radio, advertising, and toll free is on the way in my opinion. Yeah, I'm an investor, but you have to check out GO800. The service allows any cell user to text any word to GO800 (46800) and get connected directly to whatever buisiness or radio show they want. For instance, to call your show, it could be text COLIN to 46800. To try P90X, text P90X to 46800. GO800 or 46800 is the new toll free.

We think GO800 will be the next Facebook like story, taking over the toll free market, which globablly is a $50B/year rev market.

The upside is, it will boost calls to radio, radio advertisers, and TV and in print.

I'm in the media myself and know a lot of the numbers you talk about daily on your show.

The bottom line is, smartphones are increasing market share daily, and thus toll free calling is being hindered daily and it's not stopping.

You guys, and all radio are missing a huge demo here, its shocking.

I'm not a sales guy, just an investor. GO800 is about 12 months old and will have a major marketing push beginning in a few weeks on Twitter. They are looking for their first big client to start this revolution.

It's a damn no brainer man...Good Luck.

P.S. Just check the people in your office, if they have a smartphone, I guarantee most of them could not dial 1 800 PROGRESSIVE or SAY ESPN unless they have it memorized, which does not happen in the real world. GO800 may blow radio sky high, among other biz.

And no, smartphones apps like Google Voice don't take care of business, because GO800 can be set up not only for buinesses main line, but specifc lines in the organizations, like sales, marketing, promotions, etc...you name it, it can be set up. GO800 is a branding and marketing machine.
