Yeah, it's bad .. gee, your stats are awful .. so many deaths by flooding, abt 200 a year! The vehicle death share number sends a real strong message.

I heard one fellow on radio wonder if all the land clearance in Queensland could have contributed to the extent of the floods ..

Landowner fined $110K over land clearing

A central Queensland man has been fined $110,000 for illegal land clearing in the biggest fine handed down for clearing remnant regrowth.

Reginald Edward Draper, 42, of Dingo, west of Rockhampton, pleaded
guilty in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday.

Draper paid a contractor to clear more than 250 hectares of brigalow on his property.
