not exactly about libya, but i have been wondering about code words used in public. a few days ago when the market was foundering around, kofi anan gets up and says out of the blue that israel is horrible and should give up the west bank and bush says moslems are peacful and we in the US do not support any bad stuff against moslems, both on the same day.

could this be a way of repatriating some of the money that left the country this summer with the saudi dollar pullbacks. I think that is a good way to make the dollar more expensive and add some money to the markets and could be a lot bigger than 2.7 bil. I mean the princes will support their stake in Citi and could easily fight any bad downdraft that threatened a hedging position
