Why?

As some have said, they might have already unleashed those shares, but haven't updated the correct float numbers.

Others have said they have sold them and then bought them back (without any cash on hand, mind you).

Or, they will pumping some fantastical news and selling into anyone and everyone that believes it meaning you'll have your merger or at least some kind of business venture announced and outrageous volume but no gain in price. A classic pump and dump. Why would any shareholder be excited about being a part of that?
