welcome outlaw .. and thanks for the kind words
i won't pretend otherwise ~ since it does indeed take time
to educate oneself and i am no where near an expert
as a matter of fact
i don't consider it a good day if i haven't learned something
new .. the worst part for me was realizing what a complete
joke our systems are when it comes to the *market* where imo
volatility now rules because it has to .. which is why i say
it will take the total collapse of the system to *seemingly*
implement change out of the SEC
for me in some ways ignorance was bliss ..
i was in a small OTC BB co. out of SC .. (had entered with
a 10,000 share buy ~ back in 2003) at the time my oldest
was 13 and my youngest was not yet 8 and pets rivaled no.s
today .. meaning that my time then wasn't quite as free
as it is today ..
at the time the yahoo msg board didn't allow for smb's for
otc cos' .. regardless if fully filing (that would change
in jan 2007) and my knowledge of this site was non existent
so what little info i could find on said otc bb co. came
from investor village ..
fast forward 2 years when otc bb co. did a r/s in anticipation
of planned uplist (jan 2005) my 10,000 shares were split by 12
leaving 833 shares .. when i'd check my fido statements (2005)
i just remember thinking i really should sell this .. but with
my time dedicated to individual co.s essentially non existent
i never got around to it
at the end of 2005 .. the stock was in the 50 cent range
over the next year (2006) as i'd open my quarterly statements
from fidelity and realize that the stock's pps was going up
*significantly*
i now realize in hindsight that with the r/s the *short* kicked
right back in .. but in anticipation of uplist to the naz (which
would happen on 1/18/2007) *demand* resulted in *covering* and
imo the constant *resetting* that is done on every US stock traded
so from .50 in dec 2005 to approx 28.00 in jan/feb 2007 to the now
*well known* cycle of taking the pps back below 2.00 one year
after uplist .. to today's current pps .. of the mid 5.00 range
the learning curve (combined with sheer luck) i sold at the high
4 years after buying ~ to buy into a fully legit co. that would r/m
into (at that time not known to me) a filthy shell littered with
ftds .. done by corrupt cretin who could care less about the total
destruction he and his group have wrought let alone any *concept*
of fiduciary responsibility (rumor has it life has become far more
realistic for this pos but i digress) which would uplist to the
otc bb but eventually implode under the weight (of at a minimum
2B NSS) and a naive and *clueless* ceo
===
my real point is without making a mistake .. one never learns
i believed in the system because i didn't know any differently
and it's why i can't stomach the touts for the MMs'/B/Ds' and
hedgies
i don't presume to claim that every co. on the OTC is a scam
i only track and do DD on a fraction of them .. all of which
i'm comfortable with being legit .. the question then becomes
will they actually be nimble enough to survive and outlast the
BS done against their stock?
that analysis is constantly ongoing and one of the reasons why
for myself i never go all in ~ but add shares when mgmt proves
to me X (either by filings/pr's/first hand visits by those i trust)
and so on
what is also clear is that FUD (fear uncertainty and doubt) exists
one has to ask oneself why exactly is it there?
which is why it will always come down to one's DD and imo experience
i know for myself (where co.s on the otc are concerned) i will never
invest in a co. where i can't access the ceo (imo had the ceo of the
co. i sold my frpt shares for actually interacted with his sor
he wouldn't have been conned out of his co. ~ his house and his
reputation)
which is why i come back to my opening comment re: ignorance being
bliss
some days it's very painful to realize just how bad aspects are
yet still trying to remain an optimist for my own childrens' future to
say nothing of all the folks i now interact with weekly and monthly
who have done the DD on their respective investments
and
i truly hope that enough folks become *aware* .. enough to become angry
and make the effort by contacting their reps and senators to complain
because
without change and soon imo this country loses its middle class
and very few *legit* co.s will survive the god awful manipulative
attn done to them by those who can and have been doing so
for almost a decade now .. totally unchallenged
