The inhumane conditions of Bradley Manning's detention
By Glenn Greenwald
..................................
Insert: Guessing a repeat, however it should be read by those who haven't seen it. An excellent
article on the torturous conditions, Bradley Manning, has been subjected to since his incarceration.

The man who put his life on a chopping block ..

because he believed that all the people were entitled to know more ab out business and government. We all know why business comes first. Bradley Manning, felt that all the people should have access to more information on the power under which they exist. That's fair. There is consumer protection, and all that info, on cans and packaging, there is quality control. The public are consumers of business and government. Throw shareholder rights into the pot.

now spends 23 hours in, and one hour free of his cage. Bradley Manning. not legally charged?, gets one hour of every solitary day free of his cage. Maybe some part of the hour even more outside, actually in fresh air. Even within the hour, Manning, would not be free of his concrete floor, or fully stark naked bed option. It's torture.

Has Manning been given bedclothes and a pillow, yet? ... back to the article ..

(updated below - Update II)

Bradley Manning, the 22-year-old U.S. Army Private accused of leaking classified documents to WikiLeaks, has never been convicted of that crime, nor of any other crime. Despite that, he has been detained at the U.S. Marine brig in Quantico, Virginia for five months -- and for two months before that in a military jail in Kuwait -- under conditions that constitute cruel and inhumane treatment and, by the standards of many nations, even torture. Interviews with several people directly familiar with the conditions of Manning's detention, ultimately including a Quantico brig official (Lt. Brian Villiard) who confirmed much of what they conveyed, establishes that the accused leaker is subjected to detention conditions likely to create long-term psychological injuries.
