Stephanie -- it's certainly a mess -- but as is often, even typically, the case, at least across the Boston area this one didn't dump as much snow as it could have -- total liquid equivalent precip at Boston Logan has been only about a third of an inch ( http://www.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KBOS.html ), well short of what would have been the case in any truly major snowfall

the storm did keep moving, wasn't that long-lived an event

so he should be fine -- hassled, sure, but nothing life-threatening in that area
