It could well be the actual reason why some large funds are dumping INTC (and causing the stock price to drop). But if that is the actual reason, all it means is that those fund managers are not knowledgeable, and are giving us the opportunity to buy cheap shares.

What is valuable about windows on x-86 is the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of off-the-shelf and years-old programs that run unmodified.

Those hundreds of thousands of programs will not run on ARM hardware. And if some hobbiest came up with a software converter, the peroformance will lag, and it will be full of unpredictable behaviour.

Basically, this announcement is irrelevant. No sane programmer or developer will write programs for full-function windows on anything but x-86.

The advantage of x-86 and windows is that they are a stable platform that runs old software reliably.

take away either part of the platform, and the advantage disappears.

I hope you were right in your guess that it is the reason for the weakness. Once the morons run out of shares, we'll be in fat city again. And I'm ready.
